Mark Chavez's Academic Research Site

Mark's animation experience extends to animation techniques for interactive and game animation, commercials, live action and animated feature films. An early adopter of computer animation technology he creating stylized and photorealistic 3D models for big studio feature animation and visual effects houses (with extensive experience in nurbs and polygon modeling). He has worked on performance interactive animation in laser-light for rock concerts, did crowd simulation for Dreamwork's Prince of Egypt, was a lead artist at Acclaim Entertainment doing sequence direction and execution for Alien Trilogy a Playstation 2 game (the first PS2 game to use motion capture) and has done storyboard, design and execution of computer generated imagery (CGI) for television including game shows titles in Japan at Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS). With 25 years of professional animation industry experience he has recently completed a 20 min CGI animated action film authored in a game engine, the Unreal Development Kit.
